Frequently Asked Questions.

What is the point of the free consultation?

It can be really daunting to try find the right person to support you in this way. Finding the right “fit” in a therapist, and therapeutic style, is an incredibly important part of this process. I am awesome, but I may not be everyone’s cup of tea : ) I encourage you to reach out for a free 15 minute consultation meeting. This is so we can connect and chat about what sort of support you are looking for and you can get a feel for my style. If it doesn’t feel like I am the right support for you at this time, I am truly happy to try and offer some referrals for other clinicians or services that may be better suited. We can also use this time to talk through the intake process.

How often will we meet?

It is typical to meet weekly when you first start therapy. This allows us to build relationship and gain some momentum towards your journey and goals. However, everyone is different and we can work together to decide what cadence feels right for your sessions. We may also decide to plug in an extra session around a stressful time or you may decide at one time to take a break or a longer gap in between sessions.

What if I have a crisis after hours or on the weekends?

My practice does not offer after hours, weekend, or holiday crisis response. If you are experiencing a mental or physical health emergency, please call 911 immediately or go to your nearest emergency room. Your safety and wellbeing isof utmost importance.

How long does therapy last?

Everyone is different. A lot depends on what you want out of therapy and what you learn along the way. It is a really individualized path. We can talk more about this as we get started.
