Let’s Talk About Telehealth
Through my practice, I am offering Teletherapy. This means that we will meet virtually, through a secured platform, called Simple Practice. Before the pandemic began, and we needed to shift swiftly to a largely virtual world, I did not expect myself to enjoy teletherapy. I am a connector and I felt like there was so much richness to being in the same room with clients. For better or worse, I have now had plenty of practice with this virtual world and have fallen in love with the new level of access people can have for therapy through it. It is different- I can no longer offer you a tissue or a cup of tea when the moment calls for it *sigh*, but I have found creative ways we can still create a sacred space for you through our screens. I have found that client’s really like the ability to carve out time for themselves without having to include commute time to get to and from my office. There can also be magic in doing this sort of work in your own home, your own space, where the lessons you learn can be immediately applied to your actual life and world.
That being said….
There are some times when telehealth is just not the best medium or even appropriate. I have a passion for working with young children but asking them to connect through a screen is just not the most effective way of supporting them (as many have witnessed over the past few years). This means I do not currently offer therapy for children under the age of 9. Instead, I can offer support for parents of younger children through my separate parent coaching business.
Another beauty of the free 15-minute consultation is being able to feel out how connecting this way feels for you.
